Scope : experiential retail in the central business district of Cincinnati

Studio: 5th year Capstone

Role: research trends to develop idea, concept, and design to showcase full range of personal skill and development through school and co-op

Problem: Central downtown Cincinnati is seeking to pull new retailers into empty store fronts and become a diverse, core destination

Solution:  Introduce an incubative microcosm of start-up, rising, and established brands to advertise and test product within an urban market by attracting users into an environment that encourages discovery, response, entertainment, and relaxation.

Here One is a Start-up with a focus on technology currently trying to launch their product from Kickstarter.com. These headphones aren’t for music but to control the sounds around one to focus in on a particular sound or drown out unwanted noise. A retail space would require virtual pods to create sound around a user as well as display tables and shelves. https://hereplus.me/

Glossier is a Rising Brand for quality makeup. This brand has been popular as a web based retailer but has only opened one brick and mortar location. By showcasing their brand in a physical space, Shoppers can test out their different lines and try the makeup on their own skin. A retail space would require surfaces for a variety of product, mirrors, shelving for branding, bins for loose merchandise, and a sink for shoppers to try multiple coats or colors. https://www.glossier.com/

SPRZ, a branch of Uniqlo, is an established, Japanese clothing brand that emphasizes basic “life” wear. SPRZ works with artists to print their signature looks on basic clothing and accessories. While the artists are currently nationally recognized, there is the potential for SPRZ to pair with a local artist to pull on the pride of Cincinnati shoppers.
